Campaign on TV / Video
The Lehman mis-selling campaign has most recently been featured on BBC's Rip Off Britain, in December 2011. This included case studies with Belinda Platt and with Peter Howard, and an interview with Mark Neale, Chief Executive of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Mr Neale asserts that the risk of Lehman failing, and the deterioration in Lehman's credit rating, were flagged to investors at the time they invested. In fact, most investors did not even know that Lehman was involved and did not receive such warnings. Mr Neale also warns other investors thinking of buying structured products to 'be prepared for the worst that could happen'.
The issue got extensive coverage on the BBC's Working Lunch during 2009/10 and has featured on BBC News. The clippings below include: interviews with affected savers and with financial authority officials; full length video coverage of the Westminster Hall debate on Lehman-backed savings products; and the FSCS awareness campaign.
